Services

Work that starts with your data, not with a tool

In practice these services overlap. A dashboard question regularly turns out to be a data problem, and an automation question is sometimes a process problem. I will say so when that happens.

Power BI dashboards

A correct star-schema data model, DAX measures that can be audited, a report that reads like an answer rather than a wall of charts, and automated refresh. Full details on the Power BI page.

Excel automation

Recurring imports rebuilt in Power Query, unmaintainable nested formulas replaced with structures that explain themselves, and repetitive report production reduced to a button using VBA or Office Scripts. Where a task fits Power Query rather than a macro, I build it in Power Query — macros get blocked by security policy and do not run in Excel for the web.

Data analysis & reporting

One-off analytical questions: where the margin actually sits, what a process costs, why two systems report different numbers. SQL for extraction, validation of the source data before anything else, and a deliverable that states its assumptions and its limits. I am not a data scientist — no predictive modelling or machine learning; my work is descriptive and diagnostic analysis.

AI workflow automation

Extracting data from documents, drafting recurring correspondence, classifying unstructured text, and summarising with traceable sources. Deliberately not used for calculations or financial logic: a language model produces a plausible answer, and with numbers plausible-but-wrong is the dangerous case. That logic belongs in Power Query, DAX or SQL.

Training

Excel and Power BI training for individuals and small teams, in English or Dutch, preferably using your own files rather than sample data. I hold Cambridge Advanced English (C1) and have taught in bilingual secondary education.

Working language: my day-to-day market is the Netherlands and most documentation is delivered in Dutch by default. English-language delivery, reporting and training are available on request — just say so up front.

Not sure which of these you need?

That is a perfectly good starting point. Half an hour usually settles it.
