- Power BI: dashboard design, data modelling, DAX, and maintaining existing reporting — including someone else's.
- SQL: querying and data preparation; in active use and still deepening.
- Advanced Excel and VBA: modelling, automation, process tooling.
- Data visualisation and KPI reporting for mixed technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stakeholder communication: delivering training, building business cases, explaining until it lands.
Experience
(Business) Analyst, Social Security — employed role (2024–present)
Occupational disability and claim-cost calculations in a heavily regulated environment. Developed a business case quantifying the effect of preventive health interventions on absenteeism and productivity, with the emphasis on traceable, source-verified figures for decision-making. Also: restructuring Dutch benefits agency source data through Excel and Power Query into Power BI dashboards, and contributing to a data dictionary for a national signalling tool. Being straight with you: my analyst background is two years deep, not ten. My SQL is working-level and growing, not a specialism. If you need a senior data engineer to stand up a warehouse, I am not your candidate. If you need someone who builds reporting stakeholders actually trust and use, and who gets up to speed in an unfamiliar domain quickly, the fit is probably good.
